Children

Children’s Ministry exists to provide structure and oversight for all age-level ministries, birth through high school graduation. Our hope is that from the earliest age, your child will find this to be a place where they meet Jesus and grow in him, develop lifelong relationships with other believers, and where they discover and live out their calling from God.

Thank you for visiting the Children’s Ministry page. We minister to children from birth through kindergarten and their families. Here at Northgate Wesleyan Church, we believe that every child is important to God and has tremendous potential through Jesus. All of our programming is intentionally designed to help develop within each child a love for Jesus and his church.

Sunday School at 10:00 – each class follows the Wesleyan Sunday School curriculum. We offer classes for all ages during our Sunday school times.

Kids Church at 11:00 – children join in our main worship service and then transition into their own time of stories, games, snacks, and related activities to help children learn the foundational truths that God made them, God loves them, and Jesus wants to be their forever friend.

Wednesday evenings at 7:00 – children participate in a variety of activities, learning truths from God’s word through hands on experiences.

Wednesday Night Service – 7:00PM

Mid-Week Group Meetings are age-specific groups designed to meet the deepest relational and learning needs of the congregation. These groups help provide the framework for people to be challenged to worship God with joy, passion, and conviction by learning who they are in Christ so they can develop the trusting faith in Jesus as Savior and LORD.

Sunday Morning Service – 11:00AM

Worship at the East Gold Street Wesleyan Church is relaxed and inviting, relevant but not trendy. Sermons relate scriptural truth to the challenges and delights of daily life. Music plays a large part in our worship with a mixture of contemporary singing and special music.

Sunday School Hour – 10:00AM

We teach relevant lessons from the bible, which teach and guide all how to live a victorious life in an upside down, volatile world. At Northgate Wesleyan Church, discipleship is more than a class–it is a lifelong process of walking in step with God.

What We Believe

What is the Wesleyan Church?

The Wesleyan Church is a Protestant, evangelical, holiness denomination with a rich heritage. We have seen it as our special mission to emphasize the message of “full salvation from all sin.” We teach that a victorious Christian life is possible for all believers through the experience of both forgiveness of sins and the filling of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

What is the Mission of the Wesleyan Church?

The Wesleyan Church is a Spirit-led, praying movement called to evangelize and make disciples of all people by equipping believers, developing leaders, multiplying churches, and transforming communities.

What does the Wesleyan Church Believe?

Wesleyans believe in one God, who is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and the Savior of all who put their faith in Him alone for eternal life. We believe that those who are made new in Christ are called to be holy in character and conduct, and can only live this way by being filled with the Lord’s Spirit. We believe in the Bible and its sufficiency to establish our faith and conduct. We believe God wills for people everywhere to know Him and be made new in Christ. We believe that the purpose of the Church is to worship God in spirit and in truth, and to reach a lost and fallen world with the gospel of Jesus Christ through its worship, witness, and loving deeds.

Welcome

When you hear the word “church,” it’s only natural to think about a building; probably one with a steeple or stain glass.  But from the very beginning, the term “church” was intended to describe the people gathering within the building for worship and especially those going outside of the building to do the work of building the eternal Kingdom of God!

The church is made up of many unique and gifted individuals who are called by Christ to live His mission, to move throughout the land spreading His Word and serving those in need. The Apostle Paul wrote “Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.” (1 Corinthians 12:27, NIV).

At Northgate Wesleyan Church we encourage each other to find our place and get involved in building the Kingdom of God. Whether a new comer in the Youth Group, or one who has been attending for many years, we ALL have an important place to serve within the “church.”

How about you?  If you are not already a follower of Jesus, I cannot think of a better place for you to come to know Him and begin following Him.  The CHURCH that gathers in the church building at 2405 Carleton Way NE, Salem, Oregon welcomes you!  Come just as you are and experience the joy of knowing Him personally and serving Him.
